Shellona is opening his new place, on Shell Beach, at the end of the year. For this occasion, who else than Limelight could be solicitated to create the perfect event, for the best time of the year in St Barts?
What is Shellona?
As previously stated in our article about what is new for this season in St Barts, the Do Brazil has closed to leave the place to Shellona, a new beach house, restaurant and sunset club. Shellona will take over this unique and marvellous spot right on the famous Shell Beach, the only beach where you can find an inexhaustible amount of small shells, brought in from the harbor in the 60s. Shellona has renewed the place and will serve a mediterranean cuisine, thanks to their new Executive Chef, Yiannis Kioroglou, former cook at La Guérite (Cannes, St Barth) and at Victoria Paris (16th arrondissement).
Who is Limelight?
Limelight is a French clubbing label, born in Cannes in the famous club “Studio Circus” and performs recurrent parties of the French Riviera since 1990. At one of the very first techno parties in France, Limelight gathered more than 5000 people in an electro ceremony in July 1992, thus enrolling in the pionnier trendy and festive parties. Limelight has an unquestionable federative power and success in the mix of genres. These parties occur rarely enough to be unique and comparable to the craziest events in the world, while staying open to all. Limelight always offers his fans the cream of the international house and electro DJs, as for the most recent ones: Luciano, Carl Cox, Miss Kittin, Laurent Garnier, Carl Craig, Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Art Department, Maceo Plex, Solomun, Jamie Jones, Nina Kravitz, Tale Of Us, Marco Carola, Loco Dice, Maya Janes Coles, Apollonia, Âme, Ricardo Villalobos, Dixon, Raresh, Guy Gerber, Seth Troxler, Martinez Brother…
What did Shellona and Limelight put together for St Barts?
To do things properly for its opening, Shellona has solicited Limelight and they both have specially created a 5-day festival (from Dec. 29 to January, 2nd), inviting some of the most influential artists of today’s international house scene: Solomun, Dixon, Apollonia, and Bedouin, a rising duo who rocked Ibiza this past summer. After a relaxing day at the beach, Shellona will be the best place where to enjoy the sunset, accompanied by the best DJs of the current trend! On New Year’s Eve, you can start the night with a hippy chic atmosphere, followed, starting from 2AM, by and extended set from the French powerhouse trio Apollonia.
Program of the 5-day festival
29 December: Solomun, 4-9PM sunset DJ set
30 December: Dixon, 4-9PM sunset DJ set
31 December: New Year’s Eve with Apollonia, starting from 2AM DJ set
01 January: Le Bal Des Fous, 4-9PM sunset DJ set
02 January: Bedouin, 4-9PM sunset DJ set
Solomun has played a major role in redefining European house music, with productions, remixes and stand-out DJ sets that take the very building blocks of House and sensitively reconstruct them, adding a fresh, ultramodern twist to the genre.
Dixon really thinks about his craft, is honest about it, and cares about both educating and entertaining his audience. Few do his job as effectively as he does, and that’s what continues to hold people’s interest.
Dan Ghenacia returns alongside his closest allies Dyed Soundorom and Shonky to launch their new imprint, Apollonia. Sharing the same musical roots, tastes and creative vision, Apollonia was a natural, if not inevitable progression for Dan Ghenacia, Dyed Soundorom and Shonky.
Bedouin is a Brooklyn-based production & DJ partnership between nomads Rami Abousabe and Tamer Malki who are creating their own idiosyncratic spell of melodies and rhythms.
The afficionados know why they will join; as for the novices, they will thank us for giving them the heads up for this one-off event. It is strongly advised to book a table in advance, don’t hesitate to make a request with Smart Guide!
