Climate And Weather In St Barts
All infos about the climate and the weather in St.Barts.
Despites being a dry island, St Barth enjoys a humidity ventilated by trade winds throughout the year and the average temperatures vary from 25°C (77°F) and 32°C (90°F).
Having a maritime tropical climat, there are no distinct seasons per say, but the year is traditionally divided into two periods: the dry season, also known as “Lent” period, from December to June, and the rainy season, or “Wintering” period, from July to November, during which the vegetation of the island profits casual heavy showers: at this time of the year, the hygrometry reaches 125mm at its maximum peak in November. This optimal climate can be lightly troubled now and then by tropical storms that might evolve into hurricanes, which occur mostly in September and October.
The temperate climate of the West Indies allows the sea to stay at pleasant temperatures, from 25°C (77°F) to 28°C (83°F). Spared by rain, the West coast produces a rare vegetation, mostly composed by shrub and cactus; the East coast, more watered, is greener and colored by many plants and flowers like orchids, alpinias, caribbean balisiers and hibiscus; sea grapes, bayhops and manchineel trees inhabit the beaches.
Even before ecology was a primary question, St Barts had implemented an environmental protection, which preserved a great variety of terrestrial and aquatic floras. Enjoy the unscathed paradise whilst exploring the island!
